First snowfall of 2014

A few days ago we had our first snowfall of 2014 complete with bitter cold temps of below zero, at least for NW Ga. This part of the country is not well equipped to handle the snow and cold. Since there is virtually no snow removal equipment all the highways were at a standstill with folks stranded overnite in their cars and children stranded overnite in the schools. 1" of snow here is like 1' of snow in the NE. On the farm we were home safe and as warm as possible. Days have been spent bucketing warm water for the animals to drink and making sure everyone was reasonably warm. Here are a few pictures taken at the beginning of the snowfall.
